Commencing in April 2022, Totus has signed a contract to transport Refuse Derived Fuel over three years from Transferium in Ghent, Belgium to Sweden for Energy Recovery.
Transferium started out as a Stevedoring business over twenty years ago, more recently moving into Biomass and Waste. As part of this new contract with Totus, which will allow them to diversify into new offtaker markets, Transferium have invested in a new building and baling and wrapping equipment at their innovative Ghent facility.
Speaking of the agreement, Kevin Sibley, Head of Alternative Fuels at Totus Environmental said:
“Transferium Biomass has operated a very successful wood recycling business in recent years, and they have now moved into waste treatment, developing a highly innovative process for extracting large amounts of recyclable materials from residual waste streams.
We are delighted to partner with Transferium for the export and energy recovery of the non-recyclable fractions from their waste treatment operations.”
