Paper Making paper from recycled stock uses 70% less energy than when using virgin pulp

Driving the Circular Economy

Commodities are a vital resource that should be used again and again as part of the circular economy. Plastics, metals and paper can each have significant value and with the continuous adoption of new initiatives and legislation to encourage the use of recycled products, there has never been a better time to review options to make the most out of waste.

The UK generated the second most waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) per capita in the world in 2019, behind only Norway

Transparent Service

Totus' commodities division was created in response to a growing requirement across our wider business to accommodate the need for transparent and reliable movement of recyclable materials.

Our aim is to support and strengthen all aspects of the recycling chain. Using the teams' extensive experience across the recycling industry, alongside Totus’ existing infrastructure and relationships, the commodities team successfully sources, audits and transports recyclable materials to responsible and compliant re-processors, where it is used to produce new products.

5.4 million tonnes of paper and cardboard waste was generated by UK households in 2021. That's enough to fill Wembley Stadium over six times
