I joined Totus in February 2022 and am a part of the Alternative Fuels team. We work closely with residual waste producers and end users to promote the use of secondary fuels across the waste management industry, the energy recovery sector and other energy intensive industries. It is a market that is growing and developing at a fast pace and will continue to do so in the drive for decarbonisation, so it’s vital that we’re at the forefront of it with high quality solutions.

I have spent the majority of my career to date in operational roles in the distribution and warehouse sector, including 22 years with TNT. working with many blue-chip companies including Michelin Tyres, B&Q and Coop. I first entered the waste sector in 2015 but continued in operational roles for a further seven years. Moving into the commercial side of a business is something I’ve always wanted to do and Totus is my first account management role. My role is to act as the conduit between RDF and SRF producers, Waste to Energy facilities and Totus. A big part of that is ensuring that the quality of bales meet the requirements of our Offtakers, from monitoring vessels loading and carrying out regular quality inspections.

I enjoy meeting with the waste producers, getting to know them as business owners and understanding their challenges in producing fuels to burn for Waste to Energy or Cement Manufacturing. As many of our producers are independent family owned and ran businesses, the personal touchpoint is vital to what we do and the support we offer can make a real difference.  

Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym as often as possible and taking trips away ‘glamping’ in our caravan with family. I also love spending time with my two grandsons, when I very quickly become five years old again!
