"I've tried a couple of other industries in my time, but have always found myself falling back into the waste sector pretty quickly, as I really believe in the positive difference that we can make by making it as easy as possible for businesses and organisations to make the most sustainable choices. "

As Head of Marketing, I am responsible for maintaining and promoting the Totus Environmental brand in all its forms. This can be very varied and includes our website, social media channels and typical ‘marketing’ collateral, but also vehicle livery, photography and emails we send to our customers. I love meeting new people and generally talking about waste, so arranging and attending events and coordinating PR opportunities is also a big favourite of mine.

I joined Totus at the start of 2021, one day before we went into lockdown for the third time, so my early months with the business involved lots of Teams calls! Despite this, I found it easy to build up relationships with what I know is a really strong team. I feel fortunate to be working with a really strong brand and was delighted to finalise and launch our new website.

I have a BSc in Business Management, an MA in International Public Relations, a CIM Level 6 Diploma in Marketing and, with the support of Totus, I will soon be working towards becoming Chartered with CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing). I have worked in the waste industry for over ten years, including eight years with Viridor where I worked in both the communications and marketing teams. I’ve tried a couple of other industries in my time, but have always found myself falling back into the waste sector pretty quickly, as I really believe in the positive difference that we can make by making it as easy as possible for businesses and organisations to make the most sustainable choices.

Personally, I have a two amazing little boys who take up all of my free time, so we spend our weekends making our way through the list of National Trust properties or visiting local attractions - Chester Zoo is a favourite!
